This Product is replaced by Low Profile GPS Receiver (PCIe)

Key Features:

  • Two time trigger inputs
  • Pulses per second (1 PPS) and per minute (1 PPM)
  • Memory Mapped I/O for high access rates
  • IRIG B/AFNOR time code outputs
  • DCF77-simulation
  • Antenna connected with up to 300 m (1000’) of standard RG58 coaxial cable
  • Includes GPS antenna with mounting hardware, 20 m antenna cable, and manual on USB key
  • Configurable time scale (UTC/local, GPS time, TAI)

This PCI Express slot card is the best choice for adding a highly accurate time base to your servers or workstations. It can be used as a stratum 0 reference timesource for NTP and transforms any machine into a Stratum 1 NTP server without consuming additional physical space in your server room.

The Meinberg GPS170PEX card adds ultra-precise time stamping capability to your PCI Express data acquisition and measurement applications. This card installs in any single lane PCIe slot and offers an impressive selection of time, pulse and frequency outputs.

Data transfer to the computer is done by using a single PCI Express Lane (x1 board). The rear cover plate holds the antenna connector, timecode output connector, two status LEDs, and a 9-pin SUB-D male connector. Monitor software is included which can be used to check the clock’s status and configure several operational parameters.

This PCI Express slot card is the best choice to add a highly accurate time base to your servers or workstations. It can serve as a stratum 0 reference time source for NTP, and transforms any machine into a Stratum 1 NTP server without consuming additional physical space in your server room.

The GPS170PEX is the first GPS-synchronized PCI Express timing device on the market, and includes a lot of features to enable software developers to overcome the timing limitations of COTS operating systems like Linux or Windows. The powerful Meinberg Application Programming Interface (API) provides simple and portable access to all Meinberg bus level timing devices, including our ISA, PCI, PCI-X, PCI Express and USB time synchronization products.

Legacy interfaces such as IRIG, 1PPS or serial time strings can be used to connect other equipment to the PCIe slot card and transfer the time base over dedicated lines to systems which cannot be synchronized via NTP or other network protocols.

The antenna/downconverter unit is connected to the receiver by standard RG58 coaxial cable, and can be placed up to 300m (1000’) from the card. Power is supplied to the antenna by the card. We recommend the use of the optional lightning arrestor (surge protector). An antenna diplexer is also available to allow the operation of up to four Meinberg GPS receivers using a single antenna/downconverter unit.
