Meinberg USA is growing quickly and supports a wide variety of customers in several market segments including power grid, defense, broadcast/media, finance, datacenter, and telecom. Meinberg synchronization products are used extensively in broadcast and media industries, from content production to streaming networks, including at the world’s greatest sports events – the SuperBowl and the Olympics.
We are looking for:
Power Grid Applications Engineer (m/f/d)
Meinberg synchronization products are used extensively in power generation, transmission, and distribution. With the move to green energy, power generation is becoming more and more distributed, requiring accurate and coordinated measurements of power flows. As a result, substations are being digitized and require precise and complex timing technology, including IRIG, NTP, and IEEE-1588 PTP including PRP/HSR. The Meinberg USA Power Grid Applications Engineer will lead our effort to support power grid customers and grow our business in this market.
Responsibilities::
- Advocate and evangelize Meinberg power grid synchronization technology to customers at tradeshows, technical conferences, and webinars.
- Create and present technical papers for Power Grid conferences with the support of colleagues.
- Participate in standards committees such as IEEE, IEC & CIGRE on topics related to Time Synchronization, to contribute to standards & guide development in the industry.
- Support customer needs for power grid synchronization products through the sales process by explaining technology, proposing solutions, and supporting installations and configurations.
- Drive and develop strategic partnerships with vendors that help promote Meinberg products to end customers.
- Become an expert on power grid synchronization needs, Meinberg products, industry standards, and competitive solutions and leverage this expertise into compelling collateral.
- Assist R&D by engaging with customers on new technology developments.
- Drive roadmap and product definition for future Meinberg power grid products.
- Good customer engagement and communications skills, patient and diplomatic, service-oriented.
- Strong understanding of the technology involved in the power grid industry - generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Has high-level understanding of the power grid industry.
- Strong understanding of computers and networking technology, including switches and routers and TCP/IP and Ethernet.
- Good understanding of software development and basic understanding of security protocols.
- Technical aptitude & attention to detail.

Job Opening: Technical Sales Engineer (m/f/d)
Meinberg synchronization products are used extensively in data centers, power grid, finance, broadcast & media, defense, and telecom infrastructure. Our sales process requires detailed technical knowledge to explain products, answer technical questions, and configure and quote custom solutions. The Meinberg USA Junior Sales Engineer will be in constant email and phone contact with customers to coordinate activities between the sales, support, and operations teams.
Responsibilities::
- Respond to quote requests from customers in all markets and drive the sales process by explaining technology, proposing solutions, quoting products, answering technical questions, and closing business.
- Become an expert at Meinberg’s entire product line and master the quoting system.
- Support Meinberg’s business in all market segments, including participating in trade shows as assigned.
- Track leads and quotes and report status in monthly sales outlook meeting.
- Experience in sales or a customer-facing role.
- Good customer engagement and communications skills, patient and diplomatic, service-oriented.
- Strong understanding of computers and networking technology preferred.
- Technical degree: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar preferred.
- Knowledge of timing technology preferred: GPS/GNSS, IRIG, NTP, PTP.
- Strong computer skills – MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with QuickBooks a plus.
- Technical aptitude & attention to detail.
- Dependable, hardworking, and collaborates well with other employees.
- Be available to travel to tradeshows, conferences, and company HQ in Germany (about 10% travel).

- Base Pay: $70k–$100k per year.
- Profit Sharing: about $10k–$20k per year.

Job Location:
As an investment in success, Meinberg will provide training in our business processes, network time synchronization technology, and Meinberg products.
